what would a better version of metazooa be like, that actually teaches them things? It feels like a lot of taxonomy stuff is very "point to point" and doesn't really impart knowledge (I tried their plant version awhile ago).
Yeah for sure. Its utility is also questionable except for the obvious applications. The best answers I can come up with are a) just a simple, really huge visual representation of relationships between species, to use as a reference vs memorization, and b) to me you'd probably want to do this kind of thing with contextual application to help it stick.
